Sustainability Council

Pond at odela on campus

Comprised of faculty, students, and staff appointed by the university President, the Sustainability Council opened the Office of Sustainability to focus its efforts on the proposed 28 initiatives outlined in Green Paper #1. The Sustainability Council's 28 recommendations will work to build campus infrastructure and develop programs by engaging students, faculty, and staff in a transformative movement to become a more sustainable community of higher learning. The Council proposed that this transformation begin by including sustainability in the UNT Strategic Plan. This will promote connections between people and the environment as well as establish sustainability as a core value in the 2013-2018 Strategic Plan. To read and download Green Paper #1, click here.

The council meets the first Friday of every month at 10:30 am in Environmental Science Building Room 320a. Council meetings are open, and we appreciate your input! For questions and comments please e-mail us at wemeangreen@unt.edu.
