The Health Science Center maintained its top-50 rankings for primary care, geriatrics and physician assistant studies in the latest rankings by U.S. News & World Report magazine.

The Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine ranked 20^th for primary care medical schools, remaining the highest rated of all Texas medical schools for this category and a member of the top 50 nationwide since 2003. TCOM's geriatrics program ranked 16^th, the only Texas medical school listed in that category.

The School of Health Professions' Physician Assistant Studies program ranked 38^th out of 123 schools nationwide, maintaining a place in the top 50 since 2004.
