UNT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER INVITES PUBLIC TO ATTEND AFRICAN-AMERICAN HEALTH FAIR

WHO:
The UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth along with the City of Fort Worth, the Tarrant County Public Health Department, Bank One, Southwestern Bell and the Citizens for Human Dignity are sponsors.

WHAT:
The African American Health Fair is a part of the Juneteenth Celebration. Free health checks will be offered in the following areas:

  • Immunizations for children
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Diabetes screenings
  • Cholesterol checks
  • Dental checks
  • Eye exams
  • HIV screening

Free health information will be available about:

  • Breast self-examinations
  • Diabetes education
  • High blood pressure prevention and maintenance
  • HIV/AIDS education
  • Nutrition
  • Health information for senior citizens

WHEN:
Friday, June 16, 2000 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

WHERE:
Fort Worth Convention Center, East Room (Formerly Tarrant County Convention Center)

HOW:
The health fair is free and open to the public.
