Where: Atrium Gallery University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth’s Cultural District 3500 Camp Bowie Blvd. at Montgomery Street
When: 2-4 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2001 Awards ceremony and portfolio review
Background: Talented juniors and seniors from throughout North Texas have exhibited their best works in the 12-County High School Art Competition since 1985. The competition draws more than 1,500 entries each year from some 120 school districts.
It is recognized as North Texas’ largest and most prestigious event for senior portfolios and is scouted annually by representatives from major universities. Each year, at least one to two students win full scholarships to continue their art education as a result of this competition.
Categories include mixed media, printmaking, photography, drawing, three-dimensional art, painting, and computer design. Participating counties are Brown, Comanche, Cook, Denton, Eastland, Erath, Hood, Johnson, Palo Pinto, Parker, Tarrant and Wise.
The UNT Health Science Center and Asel Art Supply sponsor the event.
