A dinner for faculty, staff and students thanked those whose generosity helped fund scholarships for the 2012-13 academic year. The College of Education and its departments awarded $137,000 to 161 students.

The University of North Texas System Board of Regents, at its regularly scheduled meeting on August 16 in Fort Worth, will consider a proposal to study the possibility of combining the University of North Texas in Denton and the University of North Texas Health Science Center in Fort Worth into a single academic institution (this proposal will not affect the structure or programs of UNT Dallas). If the study is authorized, UNT System Chancellor Lee Jackson will provide the Board an initial report by its November 2012 meeting.
