First Edition of Charles Dickens' "A Christmas Carol" Now on Display

Book From the Vann Collection of Victorian Literature

The UNT Libraries and the Archives and Rare Books Department is proud to present an exhibit celebrating the spirit of the season, the bicentenary of Charles Dickens’ birth, and the generous donations and continued support of Professor Emeritus Dr. J. Donn Vann and his wife, Delores. The Libraries’ first edition of Dickens’ holiday masterpiece A Christmas Carol: in prose: being a ghost story of Christmas will be on display through December in the Sarah T. Hughes Reading Room on the 4th floor of Willis Library. This holiday classic was generously donated by the Vanns in support of the Vann Collection of Victorian Literature and will be showcased along with other artifacts related to and inspired by Dickens’ “ghostly little book.” Join us in celebrating the lasting legacy of the story that saved Christmas.
