Office of Sustainability Office of Sustainability

The Office of Sustainability staff is comprised of several dedicated individuals, each offering exceptional experience from a diverse variety of backgrounds. Bringing together faculty, students interns, and volunteers, the Office has a unique position to approach and accomplish numerous environmental issues that our planet is facing today.

Sustainability Council

Comprised of faculty, students, and staff appointed by the university President, the Sustainability Council opened the Office of Sustainability to focus its efforts on the proposed 28 initiatives outlined in Green Paper #1. The Sustainability Council's 28 recommendations will work to build campus infrastructure and develop programs by engaging students, faculty, and staff in a transformative movement to become a more sustainable community of higher learning.

wmg fund logoWe Mean Green Fund Committee

The We Mean Green Fund Subcommittee is responsible for selecting and recommending projects to be funded by the student Green Fund. The We Mean Green Fund Subcommittee will solicit proposals for projects that promote sustainability at UNT, review the applications and make recommendations about the allocation of Green Fund resources to the Sustainability Council.

Eco Reps

go green logoGo Green is the title of an Environmental Stewardship Program that was launched in all of the dorms on the UNT campus fall of 2008. The mission is to guide resident students into sustainable lifestyles. The plan is to integrate environmental stewardship into residence culture through education, outreach and practice. It is an exciting mentorship program that promotes sustainability, leadership, planning skills, and making connections that will last a lifetime.
