HIPPA Training - You will receive an email from the Office of Regulatory Compliance once you have been enrolled in the HIPAA online course. Upon receipt of the email, you will then be able to access the HIPAA module in Blackboard.
Effective September 1, 1997, the State Legislature passed an act requiring that all new faculty and staff attend training on equal employment opportunity law as part of the new employee orientation (Texas Labor Code, Chapter 21.sec/21/020). Beginning January 1998, UNT Health Science Center included this training as a part of new faculty and staff orientation.
This law also mandates staff and faculty to receive supplemental training to ensure that policies are clearly understood.
Every regular faculty and staff member is required to participate in this supplemental training.
The training is required for all new employees prior to their first 30 days of employment and then again every two years. A reminder is automated sent from the training link.
At the end of the training you will be asked to provide proof that you have taken the training. If you are on campus, simply acknowledge by entering your network ID and Password. If you are OFF CAMPUS you can provide proof by sending an email to the address listed at the end of the training.
Please take a few minutes out of your busy day to complete this training.
Employees without access to a computer may make arrangements to utilize a computer located in Human Resource Services to take the required training, or they may receive a paper copy of this training.
