President's Faculty Awards

The President of the UNT Health Science Center will recognize outstanding faculty for their contributions to education,  research, and clinical care. Twenty two of our over 400 full-time faculty will be recognized in each of the three categories based on purely objective, quantitative-based, data from FY2011, such as student satisfaction scores, patient satisfaction scores, extramural research funding, publications, and faculty evaluations. Each of the recognized 22 faculty members will receive a special commemorative medal to be worn at future commencement ceremonies, a wall certificate, and a financial award. All 66 awardees will be recognized in a special ceremony and promoted in various publications.

Two faculty in each of the three categories of 22 top faculty will be specially recognized based on recommendations from an Awards Committee made up of faculty, staff and administrators. In addition to the recognition outlined above, these six faculty members (two each in education, research, and clinical care categories) will receive a special plaque and a larger financial award.

This program is intended to recognize and promote the best and brightest faculty of the UNT Health Science.
