  2. Due to the inclement conditions of residential roads, residential trash and recycling collection services will not run today. Today's route will be collected tomorrow, Dec. 10, and each collection day will move forward this week.
  3. We are delaying openings until 10 a.m. tomorrow; however, City officials will continue to assess conditions in the morning. Please check www.cityofdenton.com for updates.
  4. STAYING CLOSED: The recreation centers and Natatorium will be closed tomorrow. Centers affected: Denia, MLK Jr, North Lakes, Senior Center.

    Please let us know if you have any questions. We'll continue to update you as we know more.

  6. All City offices will be closed today; however, essential employees and emergency services will continue to operate. If you must travel today, please be safe.
  7. Due to the rapidly deteriorating weather conditions, Emily Fowler Central Library will close at 7 tonight. We plan to open at our regular time, 9 a.m., tomorrow. Drive safely!
  8. CLOSING: All recreation centers will close early at 6:30 p.m. today.

    At this time, all centers will resume normal operating hours tomorrow, Friday, Dec. 6. City officials will assess weather conditions throughout the day and make any further operations adjustments as needed.

  9. City Manager George Campbell has announced the appointment of John T. Davis, PE, PSM to the position of Director of Engineering Services for the City of Denton. Davis brings more than 40 years of public service experience in engineering to the City and will begin his employment on January 6, 2014.

Please join us this Saturday for the second meeting of Community Forum 2, a Vision and Policy Framework Open House, as we share the Community Vision Statement, Alternative Growth Scenarios, and Community Character Considerations created fro...m your input at Community Forum 1 and the work that followed. The input received at Community Forum 2 will allow staff and the consultant team to proceed in the development of a Preferred Growth Scenario, which will ultimately form the detailed Future Land Use Plan of Denton Plan 2030, guiding the future growth pattern and development priorities for the city for the next 15 to 20 years.
