The UNT Health Science Center continues to make headlines in both local and national publications.

The Health Science Center was listed in a story on Q101.9 in San Antonio about recent discoveries from the Alzheimer's Consortium research. A simple blood test has been created, which has proven effective in diagnosing the early stages of Alzheimer's disease.

Art Eisenberg, PhD, chairman and professor of Forensic and Investigative Genetics, was quoted in Star-Telegram and Dallas Morning News articles about the Willingham arson case. Eisenberg serves on the Texas Forensic Science Commission.

Marketing and Communications facilitated an interview with Darrin D'Agostino, DO, chairman of Internal Medicine, and the Star-Telegram about the need for vitamins and how to know which ones to take. The article ran in the Sept. 20 Health section.

Marketing and Communications also coordinated an interview with Joel Daboub, assistant dean of Admissions and Outreach and the Fort Worth Business Press for an article about the TCOM admissions process. Daboub said his goal is to continue increasing the class size and standards of the TCOM students "regardless of who else is out there."

Fernando Wilson, PhD, assistant professor of Health Management and Policy, and Jim Stimpson, PhD, assistant professor of Social and Behavioral Sciences, were mentioned in many news outlets for their recent study published in the American Journal of Public Health about the number of phone-related automobile deaths. This article was featured on Yahoo! News, MSN Health & Fitness, Bloomberg Businessweek and US News & World Report among several hundred others.
