LICCIARDONE WINS LOUISA BURNS MEMORIAL LECTURE AWARD

LicciardoneJohn.jpg John Licciardone, DO, director of clinical research for the Osteopathic Research Center, received the 2005 Louisa Burns Memorial Lecture award from the American Osteopathic Association.

Named in honor of osteopathic researcher Louisa Burns, DO, the award was established to honor a member of the osteopathic profession or an osteopathic researcher with an invitation to present a lecture at the annual research conference. The award is given in recognition of the innovative vision and pioneering spirit reflected in the career of an individual committed to the advancement of osteopathic medicine. This year’s conference will be held in Orlando, Fl.

As a recipient of the award, Dr. Licciardone will also receive $5,000 at the awards ceremony.

The award for Dr. Licciardone will be presented at the Louisa Burns Memorial luncheon on Oct. 25.

Dr. Licciardone earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Fordham University in New York, a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from Kirksville College of Medicine in Mo., a master of science degree in preventive medicine from Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio and an MBA from Texas Christian University.

He currently resides in Fort Worth.
