PIM WINS WYETH EMERGING LEADER AWARD
Kendi Hensel Pim, DO, assistant professor in the Department of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, received the Wyeth Emerging Leader Award from the American Osteopathic Foundation.The Wyeth Emerging Leader Award was established to recognize and honor osteopathic physicians who exhibit exemplary characteristics of emerging leaders within the profession. Only two people are chosen each year for the award. To qualify, nominees must be a member of the American Osteopathic Association and exhibit:
Commitment to osteopathic philosophy and the profession
Strong leadership skills and demonstrated use of these skills
Demonstrated contributions to osteopathic organizations, such as teaching, committee work, and national association membership
In addition to a monetary prize of $3,000, winners also receive a travel grant to attend the American Osteopathic Foundation’s Honors Ceremony, which is held during the Annual Convention and Scientific Seminar of the American Osteopathic Association.
Dr. Pim is a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine Clinical Research and Education PhD program at the health science center. She earned a bachelor of science degree from Louisiana Scholars’ College at Northwestern State University in Nacitoches, La. and a doctor of osteopathy degree from Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine in Tulsa, Okla.
She currently resides in Arlington with her husband Jack.
