GALVAN ELECTED TO NAVIDAD EN EL BARRIO BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Robert Galvan, DrPH, assistant professor in the Department of Health Management and Policy at the University of North Texas Health Science Center was named to the board of directors for Navidad En El Barrio of Dallas on May 24.
Dr. Galvan was installed to the board at a reception at the Frontiers of Flight Museum in Dallas.
The primary objective of Navidad is to provide toys to needy children at Christmas. Last year, Navidad provided more than 40,000 toys to needy children in the greater Dallas area. This year, the organization would like to expand its services into the Fort Worth area.
Dr. Galvan earned his bachelor of science degree in biology from East Texas State University in Commerce, a master of science degree in environmental science with a specialization in environmental quality control and natural resource management from the University of Texas at Dallas, a master of public health and a doctorate of public health from the UNT Health Science Center at Fort Worth.
A native of Fort Worth, Dr. Galvan currently resides in Fort Worth.
