FRANKS PROMOTED TO ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
Susan Franks, PhD, was promoted from assistant professor to associate professor with tenure in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Franks also serves as director of health psychology research in the Department of Psychology at the health science center. Her areas of research include neurotoxicity, neuropsychology, obesity and psychoneuroimmunology.
Dr. Franks is a member of several professional organizations including: the American Psychological Association, the North American Association for the Study of Obesity, the Society of Behavioral Medicine, the National Academy of Neuropsychology, the International Neuropsychological Society and the Texas Psychological Association.
A native of Arlington, Dr. Franks earned a bachelor of science degree in medical technology from the University of Texas at Arlington, a master of science degree and a PhD in health psychology/behavioral medicine from the University of North Texas. She currently resides in Hurst.
