MOORMAN NAMED UNTHSC ASSOCIATE VICE PRESIDENT

moorman.jpg FORT WORTH, Texas—Thomas Moorman, EdD, was named associate vice president for student affairs at the University of North Texas Health Science Center.

Dr. Moorman will oversee operations of the Division of Student Affairs, which encompasses financial aid, registration and records, student development, academic support services, and student conduct and discipline. He has served as interim assistant vice president since April.

“I am delighted that Dr. Moorman is taking on this role for the university,” said Greg McQueen, PhD, senior vice president for academic affairs. “He has devoted his professional and personal life to higher education and student affairs; he brings unbounded enthusiasm, a constant striving for excellence and a commitment to the students and programs of the health science center.”

Dr. Moorman has been with the health science center for more than nine years, serving as student development coordinator, director and assistant dean for admissions and student services for the School of Public Health, and executive director for student affairs. In 2003, he received the Outstanding Student Affairs Professional award from the Texas Association of College and University Student Personnel Administrators.

Dr. Moorman received a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in educational psychology from Texas A&M University and a doctoral degree in education from the University of North Texas. He is a member of the 2005 Leadership Fort Worth class and serves on the Greater Fort Worth Arlington Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation board. He and his family reside in Weatherford.
