UNT HEALTH SCIENCE CENTER HONORS OUTSTANDING STUDENT ACHIEVEMENTS

FORT WORTH, Texas—The University of North Texas Health Science Center will honor approximately 180 of its students at its annual Honors Day May 1.

Students will be recognized for a spectrum of academic and community achievements during a reception at 3 p.m., May 1, in the health science center’s Atrium.

"Honors Day provides an opportunity for students to be recognized by peers and faculty for work they are passionate about – in addition to their chosen health profession – that extends well beyond the curriculum of their classes," said Mitchell Forman, D.O., assistant vice president for student affairs.

The majority of the award winners will be recognized for development in leadership roles in class and in student clubs, as well as extracurricular activities they take on despite an already rigorous academic schedule.

Recipients of health science center scholarships, members of Who’s Who Among Students in American Colleges and Universities, and teaching assistants in the Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine department will also be honored.

The awards consist of plaques and cash scholarships made possible through donations from community and medical organizations, physicians, individuals and pharmaceutical companies.
