Student Assistance Program

The University of North Texas Health Science Center offers free counseling to students through the Student Assistance Program (SAP). UNTHSC students receive six free counseling sessions from preferred providers in their area. Contact SAP:

Counseling on campus

Counseling services are also available on campus through Student Affairs' Center for Academic Performance. Counseling services are confidentially provided in accordance with Texas State Law, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and the Texas Department of Health-Texas State Board of Examiners of Professional Counselors.

Our counselors are active Licensed Professional Counselors and are available by appointment Monday through Friday 8am-5pm.

To schedule an appointment, please e-mail counselor@unthsc.edu or call 817-735-5159. If you are experiencing an emergency on campus, please call campus police at x2600. If you are experiencing an emergency off campus, please dial 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.
