You Are Encouraged to Enroll in Direct Deposit

The Business Service Center encourages all employees to participate in the direct deposit program for payroll checks.

Did you know that printing paper checks costs institutions in the UNT System more than $3,000 per pay period? That amounts to more than $36,000 per year and we can all think of better ways our institutions could use those dollars!

By electing to receive wages via direct deposit, you receive very valuable tangible and intangible benefits such as security, peace of mind, and instant access to funds on payday.

To enroll in direct deposit, simply access Employee Self Service, sign in to MyUNT or MyHSC, select the “Human Resources” tab, scroll down to the Payroll and Compensation section, and click on “Direct Deposit” to enter your bank routing number and account number. You will be on your way to not only saving yourself time and effort, but also helping your institution save money as well!

For student workers at University of North Texas and UNT Dallas: as an alternative to direct deposit to a bank account, student workers at University of North Texas and UNT Dallas may choose to have their paycheck directly deposited to the Higher One Card. UNT Health Science Center does not currently use the Higher One Card for students.

To sign up, login to your Higher One account,  and click on “Making Deposits” under the OneAccount heading. Under the Paycheck heading, click “Direct Deposit” then print the form to get your bank routing and account numbers. Once you have your Higher One routing and account numbers, access myUNT, select the Human Resources Tab, scroll down to the Payroll and Compensation section, and click on “Direct Deposit”. Finally, enter your routing number and account number in the appropriate fields.
