Learn about emergency preparedness Sept. 7

Tornado pictureDo you know what actions to take during severe weather?  A fire in your building? How about what to do during a zombie apocalypse?

Join Risk Management representatives at 11 a.m. Sept. 7 in the University Union for a day of emergency preparedness education, movies and speakers at the first annual Emergency Preparedness Fair.

All members of the UNT community are invited.

The fair will feature these events:

  • Crisis Management and Active Shooter presentation with the UNT Police Department from 11 a.m. to noon, One O’Cock Lounge.
  • Twister, the movie about storm chasers, from noon to 2 p.m., One O’Clock Lounge
  • Emergency preparedness presentation with FEMA and UNT Emergency Management from 2 to 2:30 p.m., One O'Clock Lounge
  • Pets in Disasters, SPCA, from 2:30 to 3 p.m., One O’Clock Lounge
  • Backdraft, movie about firefighting, from 3 to 5 p.m., One O'Clock Lounge
  • Severe Weather in North Texas, National Weather Service, from 5 to 6 p.m., Lyceum
  • Zombieland movie, 7 p.m., Lyceum

Additionally, representatives from the American Red Cross and many other local volunteer organizations will be on-site all day to answer your questions.
