No time to cook? Take advantage of Dining Services' skills

Brady Hollar, pastry chefLet Dining Services take care of the cooking this Thanksgiving, Nov. 24. They’re offering a Thanksgiving-to-go meal that serves six to eight people for $49.99. If you want to end your meal with something sweet, be sure to ask for a pumpkin, pecan or a double crust apple pie when you place your order. Above, pastry chef Brady Hollar.

Meals are only available while supplies last, so place your order early or before 2 p.m. Nov. 21 by calling 940-565-3804 or emailing UniversityUnion.SchedulingOffice@unt.edu.

Pick up the feast at Clark Cafeteria from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 22 or by noon Nov. 23.

You may also order items a la carte. Prices below:

  • slow roasted or Cajun fried turkey (10-12 pounds) - $24.50
  • home-style mashed potatoes (two quarts) - $7.50
  • country cornbread dressing (two quarts) - $7.50
  • seasoned green beans (two quarts) - $7.50
  • peppered gravy (one quart) - $4.50
  • Parker House yeast rolls (one dozen) - $4.50
  • choice of pumpkin pie, pecan pie or double crust apple pie (10 inches) - $6.50

Enter to win a pie by sending an email to InHouse with “Thanksgiving pie” in the subject line by 5 p.m. Nov. 16. The winner will be selected at random from all responses.

The university will be closed Nov. 24-25 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Business operations and classes resume Nov. 28.

After a few days of resting, digesting and holiday shopping, head to Apogee Stadium to cheer the Mean Green to victory over Middle Tennessee at 3 p.m. Dec. 3 – UNT’s last game of the 2011 season.
