PAST EVENTS HISTORY Betty Belton's Retirement Ms. Betty Belton, Registrar at the health science center will be retiring after 32 years of service. Her services touched each one of us; she was always ready to help with any information we needed and facilitated inviting all retirees to the graduation exercises. We will recognize her at our next luncheon. This is to invite you to her UNTHSC send off party. All retirees are invited to celebrate with her on December 3, 2009 from 4:00 - 6:00 p.m. in the Atrium.

UNTHSC Retirees 2009 Annual Luncheon : The Annual UNTHSC Retirees Luncheon was held at noon on Wednesday, June 10, 2009 at the Colonial Country Club of Fort Worth; President Dr. Scot B. Ransom hosted the luncheon and updated the retirees on the health of the Health Science Center. Dr. Richard S. Kurz, Ph.D., Professor and Dean, UNT HSC School of Public Health, spoke on the future of human health in USA. UNT Denton Campus Retiree Association president Prof. Chuck Martin brought greetings from his members. Dr. Renee Drabier, Vice President of Information Resources and Technology updated on the Retirees’ Website that she was helping to build. Representatives from the Human Services and the Marketing were introduced to answer any question or concern that the retirees may have. Dr. Harbans Lal outlined the future events and plans and thanked all those who contributed to make the annual event a success.
January 2009 Social: Our Vice-President and long time former colleague, Mary Spijkerman, invited retiree association members for a pot luck dinner at her home on Thursday, January 29, 2009. Our members enjoyed the visit and are thankful to Mary and her husband Jon for a wonderful evening at their home. The members who could join shared food together and chatted about the good old days at the UNTHSC. They also shared their travel and other life experiences. Suggestion was made to hold these socials around the lunch time instead of the evening. Please let us know your preference in this regard. We are looking for volunteers to invite pot luck events for the future.
