No classes held on campus, offices to be closed Feb. 2.

Dear UNT community,

V. Lane RawlinsI hope this finds each of you safe and warm as we experience extremely cold weather and icy conditions. These conditions are not expected to improve overnight, and potentially hazardous driving conditions on some roadways are expected to extend into tomorrow.

So, to ensure the safety of our campus community I have decided to keep the university closed.

There will be no classes held on campus and offices at UNT will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 2.

Campus closures do not impact online courses so WebCT classes and online testing will continue as scheduled.

I would like to thank the essential personnel who made their way to work today to provide essential services that care for our students and keep our campus safe.

As you know, Feb. 1 was a payday. In anticipation of bad weather, the UNT Payroll Office offered departments paychecks yesterday afternoon. If you are paid via direct deposit, a payment should have posted to your account, as normal. Payroll personnel are working from home today to process supplemental checks, which should become available the afternoon of the day we resume normal operations. As usual, all paychecks should be picked up in your department.

Sincerely,

V. Lane Rawlins

President
