University of North Texas Art GalleryThe University of North Texas Art Gallery presents curatorial and installation projects that challenge and promote discourse surrounding living artists and their work. Prominent curatorial projects include Re-Scripting the Story: Mary Beth Edelson 1970-2000; Wenda Gu, from middle kingdom to biological millennium; Liminal Britain; Dafatir: Contemporary Iraqi Book Art; Furniture as Metaphor, Contemporary Sculpture and the Poetics of Domesticity; Daniel Bozhkov Recent Works & Rainmakers’ Workshop; Saint in the Suburbs, Recent Work by Zoë Charlton; Graff, Tag and Bomb: the Influence of Graffiti; and A Place in the Painting Continuum. Art Building, First Floor 1201 W. Mulberry St. Tuesday, 12 - 5 pm The UNT Art Gallery will close Wednesday, November 21st for the Thanksgiving holiday and weekend. Cora Staffard GalleryCora Stafford Gallery is a bi-level exhibition space featuring UNT College of Visual Arts and Design MFA exhibitions and faculty-led class projects, such as the bi-annual Senior Drawing and Painting, Senior Watercolor and Senior Photography shows. In addition, this space provides a venue for experimental and collaborative student-organized exhibitions and visiting artist workshops, rotating weekly throughout the academic year. The Cora Stafford Gallery is named after Dr. Cora Stafford, an imaginative and enlightened leader who served as a faculty member and art department director from 1921 to 1965. Lightwell GalleryThe Lightwell Gallery is a student-run gallery located on the first floor on the College of Visual Arts and Design building. The Lightwell Gallery not only serves as a venue for weekly rotating exhibitions of student work throughout the academic year, but has also been known for hosting impromptu performances, critiques and discussions. The space is named for the open architectural feature that traverses all three floors of the building, ending at three large skylights that flood the gallery with natural light. North GalleryThe North Gallery provides a project space for work from the award-winning Fashion, Interior and Communication Design disciplines, as well as sculpture, metalsmithing, ceramics, printmaking and other studio disciplines. The north end of the gallery features a window that runs the length of the space and provides passersby a view of the gallery.
