  • PAD @ UNTHSC
NTERI Postdocs are active in UNTHSC's annual Postdoc Appreciation Day. PAD is held each September in appreciation of all of UNTHSC Postdocs and their research!

To learn more about our Postdocs and their research, click on the "Our Labs" links above!
  • LWVL Event
NTERI hosted the Living Well with Vision Loss event. The seminar was directed to adults in the 55+ range with vision loss, macular degeneration, etc. to inform them of the resources available to them and to address the grieving process of losing their vision. Click news link above to read more about our events!
  • Our Students
Students in our lab are dedicated to their research and those students graduating from our lab are very successful. Tara Tovar (far left) graduated from UNTHSC in 2008 and is now the Lab Manager in the Clark/Wordinger lab. Anirudh Sethi (3rd from left) graduated in 2011 and is now a Postdoc at UT Southwestern!

About NTERI

NTERI is providing a healthier future for those who have or will develop debilitating vision disorders. We are changing the world with new discoveries through basic and clinical eye research.

Increased awareness about disease development, outcome, and the need for novel therapies for age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, optic neuritis, dry eye disease, and related health disparities among ethnic and minority populations drives our research programs at the North Texas Eye Research Institute. We have active research programs in many of these areas.

Mission

The North Texas Eye Research Institute (NTERI) was founded in 1992 and is comprised of researchers and clinicians in the field of visual science and ophthalmology. As part of the Health Science Center, the primary mission of the NTERI is to:

  • initiate and facilitate collaborative projects in vision research

  • develop innovative multidisciplinary graduate training programs

  • engage and inform the community on the importance of eye diseases and vision research

  • attain research outcomes that will lead to the development of new and effective treatments for ocular diseases, including glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, optic neuritis, and dry eye disease

Current and past visual science research support for investigators in the NTERI comes from a variety of government and private organizations. We are actively seeking additional support from both institutions as well as from the community to sponsor additional visual science research, education, and community outreach programs.
