WARREN NAMED CHAIRMAN OF FORENSIC ASSOCIATION

WarrenJoseph.jpg Joseph Warren, PhD, assistant professor of pathology and anatomy and assistant director of the DNA Identity Laboratory at UNT Health Science Center, was recently named chairperson of the Association of Forensic DNA Analysts and Administrators.

Dr. Warren will serve as chairperson of the organization for the 2006-2007 term. He is qualified to serve as an expert witness in forensic biology, forensic DNA analysis, molecular biology, forensic hair and fiber analysis as well as bloodstain pattern analysis in several counties throughout Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Delaware.

The AFDAA is a nonprofit organization composed of people engaged in the forensic aspects of DNA analysis for the judicial system. Its members include DNA analysts, supervisors and administrators. The purpose of the organization is to provide professional development opportunities for its members to further the science of DNA testing. The organization includes members from across the United States.

Dr. Warren earned a bachelor of science and a master of science degree in biology from Tulane University and a doctorate in molecular biology from the University of North Texas at Denton.

A native of Morristown, NJ, he currently resides in Burleson.
