Make history – and make a difference

Denison Survey Screen Capture
Participate in the Denison Organizational Culture Survey

Between now and March 5, every employee of the Health Science Center will have a chance to respond honestly and confidentially to 60 questions that will help us measure our satisfaction with the way we do things now and the way we want – and need – to do things in the future. All responses are anonymous. The information provided both online and in print (by employees who do not have access to a computer) will be sent directly to Denison and analyzed by Denison. No one at the Health Science Center will have access to individual answers. If you have not received your invitation from President Ransom to complete the survey, or if you have questions, contact Doug Mains in the Office of Strategy and Measurement at dmains@hsc.unt.edu or at ext. 0473. It's time to show off – and share – your best practices
In order to recognize more outstanding efforts to achieve our mission of becoming a Top 10 health science center, the 2007 President’s Award for Best Practices will be presented to not just one hard-working and creative HSC team, but five, one in each of the mission-centric areas of the institution — administration, academic affairs, clinical affairs, research and community engagement. A “best practice” is a technique or methodology that, through experience and research, has proven to be the best path to a desired result, such as superior performance against key organizational benchmarks. All Health Science Center schools, departments and clinics are encouraged to enter. Start planning now. Entries must be electronically submitted to the Office of Strategy and Measurement by April 2. The Office of Strategy and Measurement has posted more information, submission guidelines and a submission template at: http://www.hsc.unt.edu/departments/IPPI/bestpractice.htm.

I’m looking forward to participating in our first annual Denison Organizational Culture Survey. I definitely support the purpose, and I think it will help us identify our institutional strengths and weaknesses. Let’s do it… let’s use it to help us reach our individual, departmental and organizational goals.
