Take a CVAD Tour

Thank you for your interest in the College of Visual Arts and Design at the University of North Texas. CVAD offers year round student-led tours of CVAD’s facilities only.  This tour will give prospective students an opportunity to get a current student’s point of view and see where they create their art.  This tour does not discuss admissions, scholarships, curriculum or portfolio reviews.  If you are interested in that information, please sign up for a prospective student advising session at http://art.unt.edu/forms/prospective-student-advising.

If you are a prospective student and would like to come to campus for a tour, please go to http://art.unt.edu/forms/tour-signup to register. Please fill out all the required fields and you will receive an email with additional information about your visit after you submit your form.

The deadline to sign up for Friday and Saturday tours is Thursday at 2:00pm.  If you need to sign up for a tour after 2:00pm on Thursday, please call Elyce Franks, Assistant to the Dean at 940-565-4003 to check availability.

Tours of the main UNT campus are also available. It is highly recommended that you take the UNT tour prior to the CVAD tour. The CVAD tour is CVAD specific and will not answer general questions about UNT, Admissions, Housing or Scholarship opportunities. Please visit http://tours.unt.edu to sign up for a UNT tour.

If you are interested in bringing a school group or other organization to campus for a tour, please email elyce.franks@unt.edu or call her at 940-565-4003 to arrange a time for your organization.  The number of group tours that can be accommodated is limited so please call early if you are interested in bringing your school group or organization.

Directions to UNT

Coming from Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport

  • Exit the Airport from the North Entrance/Exit
  • Follow the signs to Highway 121 North.
  • Take I-35E North to Denton
  • Take exit 466-A to McCormick St.
  • Turn right on McCormick St.
  • Bear right onto Avenue A. Take a right on Eagle Dr. Take a left at the light on to S. Welch Dr. Paid Parking is available in the parking garage located at the corner of Union Circle and Welch St.
  • Proceed to the Art building located at the corner of Mulberry and Welch. The tour will meet in the lightwell gallery located on the first floor in the center of the building.

Coming from Dallas

  • Take I-35E North to Denton.
  • Take exit 466-A to McCormick St.
  • Turn right on McCormick St.
  • Bear right onto Avenue A. Take a right on Eagle Dr. Take a left at the light on to S. Welch Dr. Paid Parking is available in the parking garage located at the corner of Union Circle and Welch St.

Coming from Ft. Worth

  • Take I-35W North to Denton.
  • Exit right to I-35E Dallas (Exit 85A). Ignore the Bonnie Brae Exit sign, which says University of North Texas.
  • Within a half mile, take exit 466-A to McCormick St.
  • Turn left on McCormick St.
  • Bear right onto Avenue A. Take a right on Eagle Dr. Take a left at the light on to S. Welch Dr. Paid Parking is available in the parking garage located at the corner of Union Circle and Welch St.
