Tim Doke

Tim Doke provides broad oversight for public relations strategy development and implementation; institutional advancement; advertising, marketing, media relations, community relations; executive and corporate communications; digital communications; institutional brand management; alumni relations; and support of government relations strategy. He serves as a key liaison with the business community, key foundations and civic organizations.  

Doke has extensive agency and corporate experience providing strategic communications, public affairs, marketing and media counsel and execution to some of the world’s largest companies. He has broad national and international media relations experience in corporate positioning, crisis communications, public affairs, issues management and government relations, litigation PR, internal communication, advertising and branding, healthcare, corporate philanthropy and foundation management.

Doke joined the UNT Health Science Center from UT Southwestern, where he served as Vice President -- Communications, Marketing and Public Affairs. In a career that spans 30 years, Doke spent 10 years as Vice President-Corporate Communications at American Airlines headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas and also has held the most senior communications positions at Dell, Inc., Alaska Airlines, Brinker International, and Freescale Semiconductor.  Prior to moving into corporate work, he spent 10 years with the public relations consulting firm of Hill & Knowlton.

As a result of his work at American Airlines during and following the events of 9/11, the Public Relations Society of America recognized Doke in 2002 as Public Relations Professional of the Year.
