About Us
The UNT Dallas College of Law, a public law school located in downtown Dallas, will strive to provide a legal education that is affordable and accessible, and that incorporates best practices in educating legal professionals. Located within a major metropolitan area that currently lacks a public law school, the UNT Dallas College of Law will increase opportunities for local college graduates to attend law school without the costs associated with relocation or private tuition.
The University of North Texas Dallas College of Law received legislative authorization in 2009, when the Texas legislature approved the law school and earmarked $5 million of the State’s 2011-2012 budget for the law school. The College of Law initially will be a unit of the UNT system and will eventually become a college within the University of North Texas at Dallas.
