Aug 11, 1:47 PM EDT DALLAS (AP) -- Bill Lively, who led the North Texas Super Bowl Host Committee and the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, will return to his alma mater. The University of North Texas on Thursday announced the appointment of Lively as vice chancellor of strategic partnerships, effective Sept. 7. Lively will help with development and fundraising for the three-campus UNT system. Lively was president of the host panel for the Feb. 6 Super Bowl at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington. Hugos Jessica Gann earns broadcasting award, scholarship at Southeastern

DURANT, Okla. Jessica Gann, a senior from Hugo, was recently named the Broadcasting Student of the Year and also received the Ben Chappell Scholarship Award at Southeastern Oklahoma State University. Gann has worked at three of the seven eastern Oklahoma radio stations in the Payne Radio Group (based in Hugo) over the past seven years and later this summer will intern at Dark Horse Recording Studio in Nashville. Music and radio production are my two main areas of interest, she said. I hope to one day be a station general manager or work in a major production company. Attendees mingled for an hour while enjoying free cake and punch before Warren Burggren, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, spoke on Lands and Gibbons impact at UNT.
