All current recommended computers and printers, and their pricing, can be found on our internal Recommended Hardware site (this site is only available while on campus, or while connected through VPN).

UNTHSC departments are individually financially responsible for computer and printer purchases.  However, Information Technology Services (ITS) sets standards for these purchases.  ITS and Purchasing work together to procure the best prices for standard hardware, and to ensure that, in most cases, purchases are made through Historically Underutilized Businesses (HUB vendors). 

Although each department makes purchases separately, UNTHSC as a whole participates in procurement processes that harness the bulk buying power of the institution so that the best prices on standard hardware are made available to everyone.

Computer and printer purchases must follow the recommended standards.  Department’s needing computer and printer hardware above or outside of the IRT recommended hardware must complete an ITS approval form and consult with Helpdesk and Client Services.  This is done to ensure that the hardware is compatible with our infrastructure and can be supported by Helpdesk and Client Services.
