Objectives of the Board of Advisors

The objectives of the Board are:

• To act as a "sounding board" for the Chair and faculty of the department by providing insight and feedback related to the department’s programs and accreditation process
• To provide guidance and advice in the long range planning process of the department
• To assist in public relations and publicity functions of the department
• To aid in the recruitment of faculty and students meeting an acceptable standard of intellectual ability, ethnic representation, and geographic distribution
• To assist the department by helping students find internships, scholarships, and permanent placement in the profession
• To aid in securing private outside funding as well as grant and contract opportunities for the department
• To assist the Chair as an advocate for department support and to provide recommendations to associate bodies as appropriate.
