SLIS 5000 Information and Knowledge Professions
SLIS 5600 Information Access and Knowledge Inquiry
The cohort will meet at the California State University Northridge 8 a.m.-5 p.m. for four days (August 16-19, 2013) and receive orientation and instruction. There will also be several social events during the institute and students are urged to attend these events.
The remainder of the instruction for these two courses will be via the Web.
SLIS 5200 Information Organization
SLIS 5300 Management of Information Agencies
The cohort will meet again at the California State University Northridge 8 a.m.-5 p.m., January 12-13, 2014, and will receive instruction in SLIS 5200.
The instruction for SLIS 5300 and the remainder of the instruction for SLIS 5200 will be via the Web.
SLIS 5080 Research Methods and Analysis (online)
SLIS 5302 Advanced Management of Information Agencies (online with some onsite work)
Students will take six courses (two per semester) following a program of study of their choice.
In addition to the two web institutes, there will be various onsite activities in the Greater Los Angeles area to provide additional learning and networking opportunities.
All students will participate in an exit experience that will be conducted via the Web in the last semester of study.
All students must demonstrate professional practice either through the approval of prior experience or through taking SLIS 5090 Practicum in addition to the 36 hours of coursework.
