Integrative physiology incorporates sophisticated, multi-disciplinary approaches to provide an understanding of human and mammalian function in health and disease.

Integrative physiology seeks to understand the organization, regulation and function of complex processes from the level of the gene to the intact human.

Our commitment to excellence is demonstrated in our successful research and teaching programs. Come and be a part of the excitement in the Department of Integrative Physiology of the University of North Texas Health Science Center! We are at the forefront of translational research designed to integrate research at multiple levels, from the molecular to the cellular, to the organ, to the whole animal and finally to the human.

Faculty are also actively involved in curriculum development and the education of medical students, masters and doctoral level graduate students and health profession students. Our faculty are consistently selected by students as recipients of outstanding teaching awards.

The UNTHSC is located in the cultural district of Fort Worth, directly across the street from the museum district which includes the world-renowned Kimbell Museum. Fort Worth is a big city with a small town feel and is an easy city to live in with a low cost of living. There are numerous parks and lakes and 26 miles of bike and walking paths along the Trinity River.
