The goal of our graduate program in the Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences at the University of North Texas Health Science Center (UNTHSC), is to train highly competent scientists and public health practitioners in Environmental & Occupational Health. Our approach to education is to train students to acquire up-to-date knowledge and competency in this area based on sound scientific theory and methodology. At the same time students are given the unique opportunity to immediately begin to translate the knowledge acquired in the classroom or laboratory, into practical applications in the real world setting through participating in faculty cutting-edge research, internships in industry, State or national agencies, or site visits to these establishments. The goal of our program is to make it one of the most attractive interactions between theory and practice, in which our students are given the opportunity of experiencing one of the most comprehensive training and educational programs in Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences.

The Department offers a masters degree program in Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences, that takes on average two years to complete. Coursework can be taken towards enhancing career and competency, for professionals already in Environmental & Occupational Health practice.
