Jim Snidero's new site, jazzimprovisation.com, is now live. The site offers a variety of instructional videos on jazz improvisation, features top New York players, and uses cutting-edge technology.

Recent UNT jazz studies graduate Tatiana Mayfield has a #1 song in the UK. Her song "Real" from "A Portrait Of LadyMay" is #1 on the UK Soul Chart Top 30. You can find the chart at www.uksoulchart.com. "Real" entered the chart at #28 then moved to #13, #8, #4, #3, and finally reached #1 this week. Tatiana is planning a tour to London for next spring.

New jazz trio CD release called “Jubilee Suite” Live at the Grey Eagle, which features three UNT alumnis: John Riley (drums), Mike McGuirk (bass), and Pavel Wlosok (fender rhodes). It’s all original music of Pavel Wlosok.

The New West Guitar Group will be performing at the Syndicate in the UNT University Union on Monday, Oct. 29 at 9:00 p.m. They will also give a workshop in room 262 in the Music Building at 5:00 p.m. The workshop is free to guitar club members and the Syndicate performance is $5 at the door. This group began at USC and was a winner and performed in the evening of one of our North Texas Jazz Festivals in Addison. They have stayed together as a professional group in the L.A. area and have a new CD out entitled Round Trip Ticket.
