This scholarship covers tuition and mandatory fees, room and board on-campus (double occupancy) with seven-day meal plan, and textbook expenses up to $500 per semester.

The scholarship is renewable up to three additional, consecutive academic years (excluding summers), or until the completion of your UNT undergraduate degree, whichever comes first.

Eligibility

To be eligible, you must:

• become a National Merit Finalist
• designate UNT as your number one school of choice with the National Merit Scholarship Corporation by the last business day in May
• complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
• maintain active membership in the Honors College, successfully completing at least six honors hours at UNT each academic year, including at least one Honors class in the first semester of enrollment at UNT.  For recipients making the decision to live in Honors Hall, enrollment in an Honors Class each term is required.

If you receive other scholarships or need-based aid, your total UNT Meritorious Scholarship will be adjusted so that your financial aid and scholarship package will not exceed the total cost of attendance established by Student Financial Aid and Scholarships.
