UNT-International (UNT-I) is guide and champion for globalization at University of North Texas (UNT). UNT-I provides leadership in support of international teaching, research, and service.

UNT-I strives to enrich campus life by welcoming international students and scholars, and cultivating global citizens among our students, and fostering global connections between the UNT community and excellent people and institutions around the world. UNT-I’s Vision for UNT The University of North Texas will be a globally engaged institution, with global perspectives integrated into education, research and service.

UNT’s campus culture will exemplify an intercultural and transnational intellectual community, its students will have global competence and its faculty will be recognized globally for their achievements.

UNT-I’s Mission Statement UNT-International will expand the reach of the University of North Texas, sharing the University's knowledge with the world while bringing the world to campus. UNT-I seeks to cultivate alliances and gateways that mutually add value to the quality and excellence of the teaching, research and service at UNT and with UNT’s global partners.

UNT-International is composed of the following areas:

Intensive English Language Institute (IELI)
Established in 1977, IELI is one of the largest language programs for learning academic English in the U.S.  With over 450 students from over 30 different countries, IELI still offers small, student-centered classes, with an average class size of 12. - Intensive English: 940-565-2003

International Admissions and Recruitment Office
The International Admissions and Recruitment office is eager to work with you from answering questions about UNT, to the start of your application process, and assisting you through every step of your application. - Admissions: 940-565-2442

International Student/Scholar Services Office (ISSS)
ISSS provides consultations, workshops, document services, and written information to assist students, scholars, and UNT staff and faculty in understanding and complying with immigration regulations. - Advising: 940-565-2195

Welcome Center and Programs Office
The International Welcome Center provides year-round orientation for international students in undergraduate and graduate programs at UNT.  In addition, this office provides multicultural programming for UNT departments, and the Denton community. - Welcome Center: 940-369-8625

Sponsored and Special Programs Center (SSPC)
SSPC provides specialized services to students enrolled in UNT's academic degree and English preparatory programs a large and their sponsors.  Sponsored students comprise a diverse population  representing many cultures from around the globe. Sponsored Students: 940-565-2196

UNT’s Study Abroad Office is here to help you go away and experience the world!
