AID TO FAMILIES WITH DEPENDENT CHILDREN- TUITION AND FEE EXEMPTIONS (2.2.27)

Applicability: 
STUDENTS

Students who meet the criteria listed below are eligible to receive a one-year exemption from payment of tuition, mandatory fees, and instructional fees.

Requirements:

A. Graduation from a public high school in Texas.

B. Completion of high school attendance requirements of Section 25.085 of the Education Code.

C. During the last year in high school, receipt of financial assistance under Chapter 31, Human Resources Code (AFDC/TANF), for not less than 6 months.

D. Age of less than 22 years at the time of enrollment in college.

E. Enrollment in college within 24 months of his/her date of high school graduation.

F. Attainment of institution's entrance requirements, and tuition status of Texas resident.

To apply, the student must submit these items to Student Accounting and University Cashiering Services:

A. Completed application, received from Student Accounting and University Cashiering Services.

B. Copy of High School Diploma.

C. A Department of Human Services Certificate, indicating eligibility for AFDC/TANF.

To receive this exemption, the student must come to Student Accounting and University Cashiering Services.
