STRING AUDITION REPERTOIRE FOR FALL, 2012

UNT Orchestral Studies consists of two ensembles:
UNT Symphony Orchestra & UNT Concert Orchestra.
Students should be prepared to play a portion of a solo work – no accompanist is needed – plus any requested excerpts from the “A” LIST or “B” LIST explained below.

The audition schedule is also posted on the orchestral studies board in the College of Music across from room 232 AND the front windows of the Murchison Performing Arts Center (MPAC). If you do not find your name on the list and need to audition, you must contact Jessica Morel, Orchestral Studies Teaching Assistant, jessicamorel85@gmail.com or 310-567-4607 to sign-up for an audition time. You must contact her before 5:00pm Friday August 31, 2012.

“A” LIST
The “A” list is to be played by all returning UNT students who have ever played in the Symphony Orchestra.  This list is also for all new students except those that determine, in consultation with their applied instructor, that the “A” list is too challenging.  Students playing the “A” list will be considered for assignment to Symphony Orchestra or Concert Orchestra.

“B” LIST
The “B” list is to be played by all incoming and returning UNT students who have determined the “A” list is too challenging.  Students choosing to play the “B” list will not be under consideration for assignment to Symphony Orchestra.
