The Regents' Faculty Lecture Series was initiated at the University of North Texas in 1983. The Regents' Faculty Lecturer will be a person whose strong scholarly or artistic achievements have brought credit to the University of North Texas and to the honoree's discipline. The lecturer's thesis will relate to both the university and the broader community. The lecture and the ceremony which surrounds it are intended as a celebration of human striving and intellectual achievement.
