PAKTIYA PROVINCE, Afghanistan - Members of the Special Tactics Team, partnered with U.S. Special Forces, discovered a weapons and ammunition cache in Mama Kheyl district, Paktiya province, Nov. 7.
While conducting joint operations, STT members and USSF received information indicating there was a cache in the vicinity of the village of Mama Kheyl. The partnered forces searched the suspected area and discovered the cache outside of a compound.
The cache contained a rocket-propelled grenade, two Chinese hand grenades, three mortar fuses, 25 feet of electrical cord, a periscope, ammunition, and two ammunition drums for a light machine gun.
By uncovering this cache, Afghan and coalition forces denied the enemy the ability to use these materials to disrupt and deny the continued success of Afghan security forces in bringing security and stability to the region.
