Michaud Statement on Independence Day

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congressman Mike Michaud issued the following statement on the occasion of America’s 236th Independence Day:

“On July 4, Americans across Maine and the nation will mark 236 years of American independence with picnics, barbecues, and of course, fireworks.  As we celebrate, let us remember that our country continues to endure because of the brave men and women who have defended our nation and its ideals, and those who continue to fight for our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

“I wish all Mainers a wonderful Independence Day.”
