Georgia Republican U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss told 13WMAZ's Kenny Burgamy in an interview he's already got a sizable warchest for his reelection bid, though he declined to give specific dollar amounts.
Chambliss said he is currently in a better position financially than he was two years out from his successful 2008 campaign.

When asked if his willingness to negotiate on the looming fiscal cliff crisis by raising government revenues would injure him in his efforts at capturing a third term, Chambliss said, "Obviously there have been lots of rumors flying around out there ...everytime one happens [the rumored challenger] gets on the phone and says 'I don't know where this came from, I'm not interested in running against you.' "
Chambliss has held his seat in the Seante for almost a decade.
"We'll be ready for whoever our challenger is," Chambliss said.
