Hugo Chavez says he'd vote for Obama

CARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has weighed in on the U.S. presidential race, saying he prefers President Barack Obama.

"If I were American, I'd vote for Obama," Chavez said in a televised interview that aired Sunday.

The Venezuelan leader called Obama "a good guy" and said if the U.S. president were a Venezuelan, "I think ... he'd vote for Chavez."

Chavez is running for re-election, seeking another six years in office in an Oct. 7 vote. Obama faces Republican Mitt Romney in his November re-election bid.

Venezuela has had tense relations with the U.S. government for years, even though the United States remains the top buyer of oil from the country.

"I wish we could begin a new period of normal relations with the government of the United States," Chavez said in the interview on the Venezuelan television channel Televen.

Chavez and Obama shook hands at a 2009 summit, but relations have since cooled.

The U.S. Embassy in Caracas has been without an ambassador since July 2010, with Chavez rejecting Washington's nominee for ambassador, Larry Palmer, and accusing him of making disrespectful remarks about Venezuela's government. That led Washington to revoke the visa of the Venezuelan ambassador to the U.S.

This is hardly surprising. The two leaders have the same view of things. They are both socialist, they both want America to be less powerful, they both do whatever they want regardless of the law, and they both hate America. I am pretty positive that Chavez does not want Romney to win. Romney represents everything he despises.

One fine socialist always votes for another. Someone check the voter rolls in California or Flordia to see where Chaves is registered.

Mariela Castro and the entire Cuban Regime would vote for Obama.
Hugo Chavez would vote for Obama.
Vladimisr Putin is so close to Obama that the American President sent him a message promising that after the election things will change in favor of the Russian.
What else is there to see and say?
        OBAMA IS A COMMUNIST, PERIOD

Just think if the US had a state-owned oil company. We'd all be enjoying $2/gallon gas and no petro-money fueled right-wing demogogues screwing things up. And we'd probably make some progress on global warming and alternative energy, which is continually undermined by the big oil companies. Chavez, show us the way!

Just look at the shining people in Obama's corner.....Putin, Jugo Chavez, Muslim Brotherhood, Gays, Communists, Marxists, Jeremiah Wright, Atheists, on and on....... I bet Satin is even pushing Obama's agenda. Now that's a proud line up worth bragging rights! I think I will run right down and vote! LOL All the more reason to be proud to be a Republican! Proud of the Republican platform to give praise to God.

This emdorsement coming from a man who said the things below. Should be a wake up call for all of those that still plan to vote for obama.

1/ “I hereby accuse the North American empire of being the biggest menace to our planet.”
2/ I have said it already, I am convinced that the way to build a new and better world is not capitalism. Capitalism leads us straight to hell.”
3/ It is an imperialist government, one that says it fights against terrorism but protects it. The U.S. throws stones to Latin America,”

The tide has already turned regardless of what the biased socialist media says. This will be the changing point for Romney. Obama is history.

Chavez works for Romney, Romney has many jobs lined up for him and his Country and this is the best way to insure Chavez does not get another cold handshake.

If you don't like Chavez, the best thing you could do is refuse to buy CITGO gasoline. If I ran out of gas, I would would walk past a Citgo station before I gave any money to Hugo Chavez.
      • SilverSax  •  1 mth 12 days ago
Poke Chavez in the eye! Boycott CITGO gasoline!

Liberals are celebrating over his endorsement.
      • Nick  •  1 mth 5 days ago
Are you so dense that you think he REALLY likes Obama? He knows his endorsement is a negative for any candidate he chooses. Since he fears Obama the most, he wants to try to give him a "kiss of death" endorsement. All the more reason to support Obama.

Oh that just makes me feel so confident in Obama. Wonderful.

LONDON (Reuters) - Serbia's Novak Djokovic cemented his place as the world's top tennis player when he dethroned Roger Federer in an enthralling showdown at the ATP World Tour Finals, grinding down the Swiss to take the title 7-6 7-5. Federer has been all but unbeatable in the cavernous O2 Arena since it began hosting the tournament in 2009 and was seeking a hat-trick of titles but despite some typical brilliance he was stopped in his tracks by the world number one. The 17,000 crowd inside the Thames-side landmark created an electric atmosphere as a wildly fluctuating final unfolded. ...
