Mr. Ralph Marche Selected for NEPVA Presidents Award for 2012

Congratulations to Mr. Ralph Marche, Chief, Voluntary/Recreation Therapy Service at the VA Boston Health Care System, on his selection as the recipient of the New England Paralyzed Veterans of America (NEPVA) Presidents Award for 2012. The award was presented at the NEPVA Annual Dinner at the end of September in Boston.
Ralph's long standing commitment to Adapted Sports has resulted in the implementation of special events like the VISN 1 Winter and Summer Sports Clinics for disabled Veterans in New England. His efforts as a National Official for the VA National Games and his support for Veterans with physical and emotional challenges is legendary.

The events provide important information and guidance on accessing health care and other benefits through the Department of Veterans Affairs. It is impossible to calculate the amount of caring and sharing that VAVS volunteers provide to veteran patients. VAVS volunteers are a priceless asset to the Nation's veterans and to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

VA Voluntary Service (VAVS) has joined President Barack Obama’s United We Serve initiative. VAVS is committed to engaging American citizens in service during the summer months and provide lasting benefits to the veterans and communities in which they live through volunteer service.
