Hurricane Sandy

2012.10.26 Hurricane Resources Page

Dear Rhode Islander:

With Hurricane Sandy making its way up our coast and the National Weather Service predicting that Rhode Island could be affected, I want to make sure Rhode Islanders have some key resources to prepare for the storm and its potential aftermath.

Key Resources:

Follow the Path of the Storm: The National Hurricane Center provides up-to-date information about the status of Hurricane Sandy. Click here.

Hurricane Preparedness Guide: Click here for information about what to do before, during, and after a storm.

State of Rhode Island Emergency Phone Numbers: Click here for a list of emergency contacts in each of Rhode Island’s cities and towns.  And visit the RI Emergency Management Agency’s website here for additional information.

My Office: If you need help after the storm finding resources related to hurricane recovery, please visit our Agency Assistance page so we can help you.

If you do see a downed power line during the storm, please contact National Grid's storm center to help others stay safe: Click here

Other resources:

Rhode Island Emergency Management Agency

Rhode Island Red Cross

RI Dept. of Transportation's Hurricane Sandy page

NOAA’s Hurricane Sandy page

Rhode Island Hurricane Preparedness page

While this is not a comprehensive list of resources, I do hope that this is helpful for you and your family.  Please be sure to stay safe.

Best regards,
