11/14/2012 - WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Mark A. Welsh III issued the following statement today:

"Sexual assault is a crime and there is absolutely no place for it in our Air Force. To this end Air Education and Training Command pursued an exhaustive look at the Basic Military Training environment to identify the underlying causes that allowed sexual misconduct to take place there. We support the investigation's findings and the actions that AETC is taking to care for victims, hold perpetrators appropriately accountable, and prevent such misconduct from reoccurring."
