Owen Schumacher, president of Remote HydroLight, explains the cradle-to-grave process of how a micro-hydropower plant facility was built and installed in the village of Daste Riwat, Panjshayr province back in January 2009, to Army Lt. Col. Steve Danner during a meeting May 21. Danner is the Afghanistan Engineer District North's Kabul area office officer in charge. The installation of the unit was part of a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers contract awarded in late 2006 to Remote HydroLight and Advanced Engineering Associates International to construct 105 units in seven of 34 Afghan provinces.
